PBR announces 35 qualifiers for Canadian National Finals

Top bull riders compete for $1 million, 2010 World Championship

2010 PBR Canadian National FinalsCALGARY, Alberta (October 29, 2010) - Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada is proud to announce the 35 riders who have qualified for the 2010 Canadian Cup National Finals presented by Wrangler on Nov. 19-20 at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, Sask. 30 riders qualify from the national standings based on dollars earned throughout the season. In addition to the 30 highest money earners, five top-ranked international invitees from the PBR world standings will also head to Saskatoon.

The qualifiers include four former Canadian National Champions: Beau Hill of West Glacier, MT, USA (2009); Aaron Roy of Yellow Grass, SK (2008); Tyler Pankewitz of Warburg, AB (2007), and Scott Schiffner of Strathmore, AB (2006). From the world standings, two of the five invitees are 2004 PBR World Champion and World Finals Event Winner Mike Lee of Decatur, Texas and 2010 PBR World Cup and World Finals contender Robson Palermo of Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil.
 
The Finals consists of three rounds of competition. Round 1 begins Friday, Nov. 19, followed by Round 2 and the Championship Round on Saturday, Nov. 20. The first two rounds feature all 35 qualified riders. The scores from those two rounds will be combined, and the Top 15 riders will advance to the Championship Round. The rider with the most points accumulated during the regular season and the Finals will be crowned the 2010 PBR Canadian National Champion.

As voted in by the top riders, the bullfighters selected to work the Finals are Jesse Byrne, Scott Byrne and Brett Monea, and the chosen judges are Ryan Byrne, Justin Keeley and Chad Pighin.

The PBR Canadian National Finals will start on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8:00 p.m. and conclude on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets begin as low as $15 and can be purchasedat the Credit Union Centre Box Office and Saskatchewan Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.ca or by telephone at 800.970.7328. Standard ticket fees may apply. There will be bucking chutes positioned at both ends of the arena, giving fans the ultimate PBR experience. This is not a rodeo; it’s the Toughest Sport on EarthTM.
