Farley takes early lead in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia (March 25, 2011) - Scoring 88.5 points on Freckles (Wild Hogg Bucking Bulls Inc.), Australian cowboy Jared Farley of Kempsey, NSW, is the leader after Round 1 on Friday at the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canadian Cup Series event in Abbotsford. Max Fortmuller of DeWinton, AB, finished the night close behind Farley after covering Vin Deadly (Vold Rodeo) for 87 points.

Finishing Round 1 in the Top 2, Farley and Fortmuller qualified for the Abbotsford Invitational Challenge Bonus. Farley selected to ride VJV Slash (Vold Rodeo), leaving Fortmuller to challenge Bag of Hammers (Sissons Bucking Bulls). Fortmuller was unsuccessful on his first out and did not make eight on his reride option, Wango Tango (Battle River Rodeo). Farley had the opportunity to put up a score and take home the $1,500.00 bonus, but the bovine athletes proved victorious.

Matt Triplet of Columbia Falls, MT, rounds out the first night of competition at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (A.E.S.C.) after scoring 86 points on Weight A Minute (Girletz Rodeo Stock).

The action continues Saturday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. with the second long round and the Championship Round. Tickets are still available, for as low as $20, and can be purchased online at www.abbotsfordcentre.ca, at the A.E.S.C. box office or by calling 1-866-977-AESC (2372).
