CALGARY, Alberta – The PBR Canadian Touring Pro Division makes a stop in Lethbridge, Alberta, this weekend. Canadian bull riders who have spent the past three weeks competing in back-to-back Canadian Cup Series events now have the opportunity to continue competition as the Cup Series takes a break. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3, at Enmax Centre in Lethbridge.
Prior to the event, PBR Canada Livestock Director and Lethbridge event producer Jason Davidson discussed the matchups for the first night. Davidson is a four-time Canadian Finals Rodeo bullfighter who has worked closely with PBR for the past 11 years. He and PBR Livestock Director Cody Lambert bring the best bulls to Canadian bull riding competition and have paid out over $1million in prize money to bull riders in Canada.
Tyler Pankewitz vs. Cavity Search:
Pankewitz was matched with this bull in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where together they posted an 80-point score. Cavity Search is capable of posting a higher score than he did with Pankewitz, though; the event was early in the season and temperature was minus 40 outside. Cavity Search is expected to be his old self in Lethbridge. With Pankewitz coming off a big win in Abbotsford, British Columbia, last weekend, he should ride this bull well and advance to the championship round.
Brendon Clark vs. White Knight:
This is a rematch from the Winnpeg Canadian Cup Series event four weeks ago. Clark finished sixth in the long round at the Winnipeg Invitational on this Calgary Stampede bucking bull with an 83.5-point score. Fans can expect a score equal to or better than that on Friday night.
Billy Robinson vs. Hardcore Suttsy:
The first time this bull made an appearance on tour was at the Canadian Cup Series event in Edmonton, Alberta, two weeks ago. He took Canadian bull rider Devon Mezei to a long-round win with a score of 87 points. Robinson is a PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals qualifier, and should have his mind set on finishing in the top end of the long round.
Aaron Roy vs. Wild Hog:
Roy is Canada’s most decorated bull rider who has spent the first stretch of the year competing on the internationally televised Built Ford Tough Series in the United States. You can count on a 100-percent effort from him Friday night as he takes on Kevin Girletz’s bull Wild Hog, who is a veteran himself. With this field of bulls and riders, this pairing is up against tough competition. They will both have to perform at their best to get a score worthy of the short round in Lethbridge.
