LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – Looking forward to two days of action Lethbridge, which is always one of our best events of the year, one that the guys really look forward to and always seems to have highlight rides, so look for that again this year.

Lethbridge is the second PBR Canada Cup event of the year and we’ve got a lot of new, young, fresh bulls that we haven't seen a lot of yet from respected contractors, so you know they're going to be great.

We got some good matchups for Jordan Hansen, Lonnie West, Chanse Switzer, Jake Gardner, the Canadian Champion William Barrows on the rodeo side also has a good matchup, to name a few.

Below are my bets for Round 1 of the event from Lethbridge. Let us know your thoughts and your picks for the Cup Series event by tagging @PBRCanada on X.

Aaron Roy vs. Teeka

This is a rematch for Aaron Roy on the bull Teeka. They matched up for 85-86 in the past and look for the same thing here. This is a really big bull, high horned bull, he's got the intimidation factor, but the guys love him. They love to get on them. He has good timing. He'll spin either way. Look for him to have a big look to the left and probably around the right. Aaron should eat him up. Look for him to set himself up great for the weekend with 85-point score.

Dakota Buttar vs. Tombstone

The champ from red deer and the past Canadian Champion looks to be on track in the running for another Canadian championship. Dakota matches up with Tombstone in Round 1. I have seen some videos of this bull, he comes from Forrester brothers, and he looks great. This bull has been at a bunch of different bull ridings, not at the PBR level ye, this is his debut at the PBR level. Look for him to be right in the gate to the right, lots of good timing. Dakota should sit up and ride this one away from his hand for 86 points.

Cody Coverchuk vs. Lost Creek

This is a young bull that's starting to come into his zone. We saw him last year and he had some very, very phenomenal trips. Looks like he could be a standout bull for the ranch once he gets everything lined out. Coverchuk is in shape, he is taking it seriously, he’s dedicated. He's looking and feeling as good as I've ever seen him and look for that to translate into this season. This black and white paint bull will go either way. We saw Jared Parsonage ride this bull in Kelowna last year in the short round to take the event win. There he went left; I’ve seen him go right. It doesn't matter to Coverchuk. I think this could be a round win, 87-88 points.

Nick Tetz vs. Hanna Motors Broken Halo

Nick and Broken Halo have matched up before for 87 and 88 points. This is a great bull from the Skori Ranch, been around a while now, we see him in the short round or the 5/5 Bucking Battles quite often. Black, white-faced bull should be around to the left. If you ride him, he may go back to the right. He's got some different moves to him now than when he was a calf. So, they have to be ready to ride jump for jump and stay in the middle, not over anticipate anything with this bull, but great bull, great match up, will fit Nick’s style really well. Look for another 87-88-point ride.

Garrett Green vs. Hanna Motors Sure Shot

Once again another veteran bull from the Skori Ranch that has been outstanding his whole career. They recently switched this bull to the right-hand delivery and he's been coming out of there and spinning to the right which is different than his past trips of being out of the left and around to the left. Fits Garrett really well and Garrett really always has success at the start of the year. We’ve seen him do great in Red Deer, and Lethbridge he’s always had success. This veteran bull rider knows the game, knows what it's all about and when he's in it to win it, there's nobody that can stop him. I think he's going to have his stuff together, ready to go for Sure Shot. Right in the gate to the right, big strong bull. Look for another 87-88-point ride here.
