SUNNYBROOK, Alta. – At the first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event in Sunnybrook, Alberta, 2017 Canadian Rookie of the Year Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) went a perfect 2-for-2, victorious at the Buckin At The Brook.

As competition got underway in Round 1, Robbins quickly climbed to second on the event leaderboard courtesy of his 81-point ride atop Stray Bucks (Shay Marks).

The determined Albertan then took on Bubbles (Shay Marks) in the final round. Delivering what would be the high-marked ride of the event, Robbins covered the bovine athlete with ease, awarded 85 points to clinch the event win.

Robbins left Sunnybrook having earned 38 national points. He rose from No. 14 to No. 11 in the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

As the only other rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) was second, garnering 28 national points.

Three-time Canadian Champion Roy is chasing history this season, should he continue his come from behind surge and win the 2024 title, it would be his unprecedented fourth time earning the coveted honor.

Roy’s flawless outing at the Sunnybrook Hotel and Bar included a 78.5-point ride on Barnyard (Eno Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 83.5-point ride atop What The Freak (Vold Rodeo/Prescott) in Round 2.

In the national standings, Roy rose from No. 8 to No. 6. He is now within 601.5 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta).

Cuay Schmidt (Coronation, Alberta) parlayed a Round 1-winning, 81.5-point ride on Hell and Back (Shay Marks) into a third-place finish.

The 2022 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year earned 19 national points, gaining one position in the Canadian standings as he rose from No. 24 to No. 23.

As the only other rider to convert at Buckin At The Brook, 2023 PBR Canada National Finals event winner Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alberta) was fourth.
