Everybody always says the events are a lot of fun up in Grande Prairie, the crowd is always great when we get into the north country and the bulls seem to buck.
Coming off of the summer break there's been a lot of change ups, a lot of moves happened throughout the summer. There’s going to be some exciting stuff to watch once we get back to the action.

Some honorable mentions, I think we're going to see some big rides from Coy Robbins and Aaron Roy, Logan Biever as well and the return of Shay Marks who I look for him to get a score this weekend, he's been hot all summer as he tries to make the Canadian National Finals.
Below are my bets for Round 1 of the event from Grande Prairie. Let us know your thoughts and your picks for the Cup Series event by tagging @PBRCanada on X.
Jake Gardner vs. Hanna Motors Stand By You
Jake has had a great summer, a great start to the year. He's been solid as a rock all season long, riding like the Jake Gardner that we all know. This bull has bucked him off before, but don't look for that to happen. He knows what this bull is all about. He knows what this bull feels like. The bull has some movement to him, he could start one way and go back the other way. He’s a little bit more difficult, but Jake seems to like those ones. He’s gritty, he is going to fight to the bitter end and he's pretty much hometown, the Prince of the Peace Country, he always has success up there. So look for Jake to get a good score, 86-87, and keep the ball rolling in the second half of season.
Cody Coverchuk vs. No Feae
What a great story we've got from Coverchuk. He breaks his back at the Cody Snyder Bullbustin’ in Calgary, Alberta mid-summer and he's been out since. He quietly came to a bull riding at my house a couple weeks ago, and decided to try out his back. He had the go ahead for his doctors and he looked like he did not miss a step. He made and 87-88-point bull rider and looked exactly like the Cody Coverchuk that's won the Championship before. So don’t look for that to affect him. This bull should be in the gate to the right. This is a young bull, away from his hand. Look for an 85-point ride from Coverchuk to get things rolling now in the second half of the championship push.
Jeremy Maisonneauve vs. Time To Twist
Very exciting debut into PBR Canada for Jeremy Maisonneauve. The 3D Bullriding athlete has looked absolutely unstoppable, setting records at all levels in the amateur associations and now he's stepping up to the big league for the first time in the PBR Canada at a Cup Series event. And I look for him to keep that momentum going. I've watched this kid ride, and he rides phenomenal. It doesn't matter which way he goes, he’s going to win Championships in the future and go as far as he wants in the sport. He’s one of those talents that can do whatever he wants in this sport as long as he wants to keep moving forward, and I look for him to get a ride here on the board. Time to Twist of Jim Thompson’s is a younger bull that I haven't seen too much. Looks like he should be in the gate to the right, away from his hand and should be all day for Jeremy to set himself up, and get himself in to the short round and see if he can get a win at his first Cup Series event.
Weston Davidson vs. Cheeko
Weston has a bull here in Cheeko that he's going to be very happy with in the draw. I’ve seen this bull at Prince Albert a couple weeks ago, Carter Sahli rode him. It looks like he has a big look to the right, around the left. Lots of timing. One that you want to draw, one that you want to get on. And Weston is on the bubble right now. He's in that race not for the Championship, but to get into the Finals in the Top 18. He knows what he's got to do. He knows that he didn’t have the summer that he wanted. But look for him to turn it up here in the fall run, get himself in the Finals and back to Edmonton. Look for an 85-86-point ride to get it started off here in Grande Prairie.
Dakota Buttar vs. Linebacker
Dakota had a phenomenal summer once again. He kept the momentum rolling through the summer break at all the Touring Pro Division events. Looking for another Championship. Rode really great all summer, everywhere I saw him. This bull is going to fit his style really well. Linebacker of Skori Bucking Bulls, I saw Jeremy Maisonneauve ride this bull in Prince Albert a couple weeks ago for an 88-point score. Yellow bull, down horns, should be right in the gate to the left. Has a little bit of suck back around the first corner. Buttar is going to have to poke his chest out a little bit, and sit up and then it should be all day after that. Bull’s going to fade out there, across there, look showy. Buttars could have a round win here, and 86-87-point ride.
Jared Parsonage vs. Special Ops
Jared’s been picking and choosing this year where he's going. He’s been going to all of these Cup events and having great success like he does. Staying on everything, Captain Consistency as per usual. Look for him to make a big move here in the fall at these Cup events. Jared is quietly in the running for the Championship once again, and he’s a guy that you can never sleep on, he’s always going to be there and when he's not rodeoing hard down in the US and he’s focusing on the PBR Canada Cup Series, he's one that everybody's going to have to keep an eye on to win the Championship this year. Good bull from Nansen Vold, a young one. I don't know too much about him, Nick Tetz rode him in Yorkton for an 86-87-point ride. Out of the left, should be around to the left. When Nansen is bringing one to town, you know he's going to be good. Same thing here, look for Jared to be 86-87 points and set himself up great for the weekend, great for the fall run and try to get the Championship.
