Coy Robbins and Jordan Hansen Tie for Event Win at Prestigious Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding

STAVELY, Alta. – As a raucous Saturday night crowd in Stavely, Alberta, watched on, Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) and Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta) rode supreme at the prestigious PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event at Stavely Outdoor Arena, tying for the victory at the Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding.

For Robbins, his 2-for-2 showing included an 81.5-point ride on Effective (Vold Rodeo/ R Saga ranch) in Round 1, and an event-best, 87-point score aboard Dialed In (Wildon Rodeo) in the championship round.

The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year earned 52 national points. He remained No. 14 in the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship, and accompanying $100,000 bonus, inching within 682 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta).

Hansen surged to an early event lead when he split the Round 1 win as he made the 8 on Talk’s Cheap (Eno Bucking Bulls) for 84 points. The reserved Albertan then remained atop the leaderboard in the final round when he bested Hard Not To Get (Vold Rodeo) for 84.5 points.

Leading Staveley Outdoor Arena with 52.5 national points, Hansen climbed from No. 18 to No. 17 in Canada.

Third was Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan).

Switzer’s bronze showing, which netted him 24.5 national points, was highlighted by an 84-point ride on Smog (Kinky Buckers) in the event’s opening round.

He remained No. 5 in the Canadian national standings, now 555.17 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, Saskatchewan) parlayed an 83-point ride on Upstairs Basement (Shay Marks) in Round 1 into a fourth-place finish.

Chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Parsonage earned 19 national points. He remained No. 3 in the standings, now 519.84 points behind the top spot.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was 2023 PBR Canada National Finals event winner Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alberta).

Craig rode Watermelon Sugar Hi (Kinky Buckers) for 80.5 points in Round 1 to earn 15 national points.

The home province hopeful remained No. 10 in the Canadian standings. Craig now trails top-ranked Tetz by 638.84 points.

In the bull pen, Grand Funk (Kinky Buckers) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete posted an event-best, 44-poitn score in the championship round for his 6.03-second buckoff of Parsonage.

The 2024 PBR Canada season continues Saturday, August 24 with the Touring Pro Division’s Buckin At The Brook in Leduc County, Alberta. Action at Sunnybrook Hotel and Bar begins at 7:00 p.m. MT.
