Three-Time PBR Canada Champion Aaron Roy Wins Touring Pro Division Event in Tofield, Alberta

Aaron Roy won the PBR Canada Touring Pro Division event in Tofield, Alberta.

TOFIELD, Alta. – As the 2025 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada season continued Thursday night in Tofield, Alberta, three-time national Champion Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) rode supreme, winning the Touring Pro Division’s Tofield Western Days.

Roy was sensational at the one-round event. He dominated Holy Smokes (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for an unrivaled 86 points.

The veteran contender also finished fifth courtesy of a double entry, besting Cheeko (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 82.5 points.

Roy left the Tofield Fairgrounds with 34 national points. He solidified his No. 9 rank in the race for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000, inching within 505.17 points of No. 1 Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan).

Buttar was shutout at Tofield Western Days. He was bucked off by Leader Of The Pack (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in 3.25 seconds.

2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) was second.

Robbins earned 16 national points after covering Berrendo (Eno Bucking Bulls) for 85 points.

Seeking his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Robbins remained No. 8 in Canada and is now 471.5 points back of the No. 1 position.

Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia) was third.

Gardner secured the bronze showing, and 15 national points, by making the requisite 8 on Affairs In Order (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 84.5 points.

Furthering his grasp on the No. 2 rank in Canada, Gardner was propelled within 129 points of No. 1 Buttar.

Rounding out the Top 5 and finishing fourth was Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan).

Switzer topped Brimstone (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 83 points to net 12 points in the race for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship. He remained No. 15 in the national standings.

In the bull pen, Jet Black (Skori Bucking Bulls) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 42.5 points for his 2.4 seconds of work against Dusty Golden (Mayerthorpe, Alberta).

The 2025 PBR Canada season continues Saturday, August 9 in Elnora, Alberta, for the Touring Pro Division’s 25th Elnora Brahma Rama. Action at the Elnora Agriculture Grounds begins at 7:30 p.m. MT.
