SASKATOON, Sask. – At the final regular-season Cup Series event of 2025, veteran Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, Saskatchewan) showed up and showed out in front of the record-setting crowd inside SaskTel Centre, going a flawless 3-for-3 to win the Saskatoon Classic, presented by Redhead Equipment and CASE IH, overtaking the No. 1 rank in the race for the 2025 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

Parsonage first converted in the opening round when he logged the fifth-best score as he went the distance on Wild Time (Vold Rodeo) for 84.5 points. The home province hopeful then climbed the leaderboard when he tied for the Round 2 victory, covering Linebacker (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 86.5 points.

Parsonage then elected to go head-to-head with Moonwalk (Thompson Rodeo Livestock), a top contender in the race for the 2025 Canadian Global Bull of the Year title, in the championship round. A decision which proved dividends, Parsonage conquered the bovine athlete for an event best 89 points to cement the win.

Courtesy of the win, Parsonage earned a crucial 240 national points. He surged from No. 3 to No. 1 in the PBR Canada Championship race, propelled 70 points ahead of new No. 2 Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan).

Buttar finished eighth in the main event and third in the tour stop’s accompanying 5/5 Bucking Battle to earn 62.3 national points.

The two-time PBR Canada Champion rode Rock Steady (Vold Rodeo) for 86.5 points in Round 1, and Pay Day (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 80.5 points in Round 2 before being bucked off by Whisky at Noon (Vold Rodeo) in 1.32 seconds in the championship round. In the 5/5 Bucking Battle, Buttar bested High Voltage (Wilson Rodeo) for 85 points.

Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta) delivered a flawless 3-for-3 showing of his own to finish second.

Hansen made the 8 on Tombstone (TFB Ranch) for 85 points in Round 1, Up Roar (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in Round 2 and Stray Bucks (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 86 points in the championship round.

Chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Hansen also won the 5/5 Bucking Battle via an 87.5-point score aboard Lord Fear (Vold Rodeo).

Earning a combined 177 national points, Hansen climbed from No. 5 to No. 4 in Canada, now trailing No. 1 Parsonage by 465.83 points.

As the final rider to cover all three of his bovine athlete opponents, Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan) was third.

Switzer garnered 121.5 points for his 84-point ride on Little Sheepish (Vold Rodeo) in Round 1, 84-point trip atop Smog (Kinky Buckers) in Round 2, and 84.5-point effort aboard Times A Tickin (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in the final round.

In the national standings, Switzer rose from No. 14 to No. 11.

Two-time and reigning PBR Canada Champion Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) parlayed a 2-for-3 showing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan into a fourth-place finish.

Competing for just the second time since breaking his femur in March, Tetz was sensational in Round 1, tying for the round win when he outlasted Rank Frank (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle/Legend Rodeo Stock) for 86.5 points.

Tetz remained atop the leaderboard when he tied for the Round 2 win, besting Double Twist (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for a matching 86.5 points.

In the championship round, however, Tetz was denied the win when he was upended by Pagewire (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in a heartbreaking 7.31 seconds.

Tetz also converted in the 5/5 Bucking Battle, finishing second via an 87-point ride on Pyper (Foley Bucking Bulls).

Leaving Saskatoon with 118.33 points, Tetz surged from No. 18 to No. 12 in Canada.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia).

After bucking off Super Fly (Vold Rodeo) in 2.79 seconds in Round 1, Gardner rebounded in resilient fashion on Championship Saturday. Following an 83.5-point score on Twisted Logic (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in Round 2, Gardner dominated Get Rhythm (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 88 points in the final round.

Netting 79 national points, Gardner is now No.3 in Canada, 76.83 points behind No. 1 Parsonage.

In the bull pen, reigning Bull of the Year Grand Funk (Kinky Buckers) and Lord Fear bucked supreme, crowned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bulls of the Event.

Grand Funk was marked 44 points in the championship round for his 6.72-second buck off of Lonnie West (Cadogan, Alberta), while Lord Fear lit up the scoreboard when he was ridden by Hansen for the winning score in the 5/5 Bucking Battle.

Following a three-week break, the 2025 PBR Canada season will conclude in Edmonton, Alberta for the Command Tubular PBR Canada National Finals, presented by Edmonton’s Best Hotels, when the 2025 PBR Canada Champion will be crowned, earning the accompanying $100,000 bonus. Action for the year-end event inside Rogers Place will get underway at 7:00 p.m. MT on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15.
