Gilmar Santana Wins Canadian Touring Pro Division’s McDonald’s Colby Cave Memorial PBR Classic to Tighten Grasp on No. 2 Rank in the National Standings

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – In front of a raucous crowd inside Access Communication Centre in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil) rode supreme, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the Touring Pro Division’s McDonald’s Colby Cave Memorial Classic, tightening his grasp on the No. 2 rank in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

Santana first put points on the board in Round 1 when he outlasted Cash Train (CS Bucking Bulls) for 84.2 points, the third-best score in the round.

The surging Brazilian then delivered his second qualified ride in as many attempts when he topped Shock Top (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 85.2 points in Round 2 to clinch his fourth PBR Canada event win of 2026.

Taking home 54 national points for his golden showing, Santana remained No. 2 in the Canadian standings, climbing within 287.33 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) who was not in competition in North Battleford.

As the only other rider to go a flawless 2-for-2, Francisco Costa (Humaita, Brazil) was second, netting 42 national points.

Costa covered Boostraps (CS Bucking Bulls) for 83.5 points in Round 1, and Free Willie (CS Bucking Bulls) for 84.2 points in Round 2.

In the Canadian national standings, Costa rose from No. 11 to No. 7, propelled within 665.67 points of No. 1 Tetz.

Eric O’Flynn (Quesnel, British Columbia) was third.

After bucking off Twist & Shout (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in 3.78 seconds in Round 1, O’Flynn was quick to rebound, winning Round 2 with an event-best 86.3-point trip on Cheeko (Skori Bucking Bulls).

O’Flynn earned 26 national points for his bronze showing. He rose from No. 38 to No. 31 in the standings.

Fresh off his first event win of the season the week prior in Czar Lake, Alberta, Tyler Craig (Crossfield, Alberta) was fourth.

Craig earned 20 points for his 85.3-point ride on Rice Pudding (CS Bucking Bulls) in Round 2.

On the hunt for this first PBR Canada Championship this November, Craig remained No. 13 in the national standings, now 716.83 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta).

Hansen delivered the top score of Round 1, marked 85.1 points on Cracker Jack (W Sunrise).

Earning 21 national points, Hansen remained No. 4 in Canada, now 611.83 points back of the top rank.

In the bull pen, Night Fury (Skori Bucking Bulls) delivered the top out, earning the Bull of the Event honors. Bucking in Round 2. Night Fury scored an unmatched 43.5 points for his 4.03 seconds of work against Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan).
