Brazilian Sensation Gilmar Santana Wins First-Ever PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan

St. Walburg, Sask. – At the first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, surging Brazilian Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brail) continued to ride in dominant form, winning the Party In The Pasture PBR to overtake the No. 2 rank in the race for the season’s national title.

Santana has now won two PBR Canada events in 2026 as he attempts to become the first-ever Brazilian to win the nation’s year-end championship.

The Brazilian’s victory was headlined by an event-best, 88.1-point ride aboard Posty (Foley Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.

He left St. Walburg with a crucial 46 national points allowing him to leap-frog Jeremy Maisonneuve (Val-des-monts, Quebec) for the No. 2 rank in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

Santana now trails No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) by 348.83 national points.

Two-time PBR Canada Champion Tetz finished second as the only other rider to make the requisite 8.

The reserved Albertan netted 33 national points for his 87.2-point trip atop Pyper (Foley Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.

Tetz is chasing history this season. Should he be crowned the 2026 PBR Canada Champion he would tie Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) for most national titles won by one rider with three.

The Party In The Pasture PBR was dominated by the organization’s bovine athletes, delivering buckoffs in 92.59% of the outs. Boogey (Foley Bucking Bulls) and Posty bucked a cut above the rest, crowned the Bull of the Event. Each bull was marked an unrivaled 43 points in the championship round.

Boogey earned the marks for his 5.19 seconds of work against Roy, while Posty topped the leaderboard in his winning out with Santana.
