Coy Robbins Goes a Perfect 2-for-2 To Win PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – As the 2024 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada season continued this past weekend in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) rode to his fourth Touring Pro Division victory of the season, victorious at the Clunie-Cooper Memorial PBR, presented by Riverside Dodge.
Robbins got off to a quick start in Round 1, posting the top score when he bested Sons of Junkie (Lazy S Bucking Bulls) for 87 points.
The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year then clinched the event win in the second round when he conquered Hammer Time (Skori Bucking Bulls) for a matching 87 points.
The golden finish garnered Robbins a crucial 38 national points in the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He rose from No. 6 to No. 4 in the standings, now within 512.5 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta).
As the only other rider to go a perfect 2-for-2 at the Byrne Ranch, Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan) was second, garnering 28 national points.
Switzer rode Stubborn Pride (X6 Ranch & Bucking Cattle/Hartman) for 85 points in Round 1, before outlasting Fozzy Bear (Flying Four Bucking Bulls) for 84 points in Round 2.
The Saskatchewan man rose one position in the Canadian standings, climbing from No. 7 to No. 6. He is now 527.17 points back of No. 1 Nick Tetz.
Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta) parlayed an event-best, Round 2-winninng, 89-point ride on Whiskey Moon (Skori Bucking Bulls) into a third-place finish. During the out, Whiskey Moon posted an unrivaled 43.5-point bull score to be crowned the Bull of the Event for the fourth time this season.
Sahli’s bronze finish earned him 19 national points, propelling him from No. 10 to No. 9 in Canada.
Fourth was Weston Davidson (Strongfield, Saskatchewan).
Davidson earned 15 national points for his 86-point ride atop Wide Open (Lazy S Bucking Bulls) in the opening round. He remained No. 3 in the Canadian standings, now 468.5 points back of top-ranked Tetz.
Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Cody Fraser (Wilmington, South Australia, Australia).
The Australia went 1-for-2, covering Lucian (Flying Four Bucking Bulls) for 66 points in Round 1, collecting 4 national points. Fraser remained No. 18 in Canada.
The 2024 PBR Canada season continues September 27-28 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, when competition for the elite Cup Series resumes. Action at Bonnetts Energy Centre for the PBR Peace Country Invitational gets underway nightly at 7:00 p.m. MT.
