SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – PBR Canada has announced Nansen Vold’s Vold Rodeo Company, Johnny Ringo and Calgary’s Bullbustin' in Support of the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre as the 2017 recipients of the Stock Contractor of the Year, Bull of the Year and Event of the Year honors.

For Nansen Vold and Vold Rodeo Company the win marks the third time the Ponoka, Alberta-based operation has earned the honor of Stock Contractor of the Year, previously taking the title in 2012 and 2014.

“It’s always good, and it never gets old winning contractor or bull of the year,” Vold said. “It’s something we strive for every season. We try to bring the best to all shows and it’s paid off.”

The 2017 Bull of the Year, Johnny Ringo, also hails from Vold Rodeo Company in partnership with Rafter G Cattle Co. This is the second time the company has won the award, previously in 2011 with VJV Slash.

“He’s been a great little bull all year,” Vold said. “A lot of guys didn’t see it in him, but I had a special place for that bull. I thought he had a lot of heart and he had one of the best years you could ever ask for.”

For the first time, Calgary’s Bullbustin' in Support of the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre was named Event of the Year. This year’s event was won by Fabiano Vieira

“We are very excited and honoured to be named the PBR event of the year,” event organizer Cody Snyder and PBR Ring of Honor member. “We had over 12,000 fans attend our sold-out event and have raised over two million dollars for various charities including the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre.  We are thrilled to be able to make a huge difference in our city and to be able to deliver such a top notch professional event each year.”
