TOFIELD, Alta. – In front of an electric Thursday night crowd in Tofield, Alberta, Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) showed up and showed out, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division’s Tofield Western Days at the Tofield Fairgrounds.

Tetz, who rides for the Arizona Ridge Riders in the separate PBR Teams league, first struck in Round 1, delivering the third-best score courtesy of his 81.5-point ride atop Black Beetle (Foley Bucking Bulls).

The 2022 PBR Canada Champion then surged to the top of the event leaderboard and clinched the victory as he rode Time Marches On (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for an event-best 87.5 points in the championship round.

Courtesy of the golden finish, Tetz earned a crucial 37 national points. While he remained No. 2 in the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship, and accompanying $100,000 bonus, he inched within 24 points of No. 1 Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan).

Should Tetz continue his come-from-behind surge and win this season’s title, he would become just the fourth multi-time Champion in PBR Canda history.

As the only other rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) was second, garnering 20 national points.

Robbins rode Road Rash (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 81 points in Round 1, before going the distance atop Whiskey Clouds (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 84.5 points in the final round.

The silver showing allowed Robbins to rise from No. 16 to No. 14 in the national standings.

Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta) was third.

Sahli earned 19 national points for his Round 1-winning, 85-point ride on Hammer Time (Skori Bucking Bulls).

Chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Sahli rose from No. 9 to No. 8 in the nation. He is now within 631 points of No. 1 Coverchuk.

Two-time and reigning PBR Canada Champion Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan) parlayed an 82.5-point ride on Day Thuggin (Shay Marks) in Round 1 into a fourth-place finish.

Buttar left Tofield having earned 15 national points. Buttar remained No. 13 in Canada.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Cauy Schmidt (Coronation, Alberta).

The 2022 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year earned 12 national points for his 81-point ride on Hard Pass (Eno Bucking Bulls) in the opening round. He gained three spots in the standings, climbing from No. 27 to No. 24.

In the bull pen, More or Less (Thompson Rodeo Livestock), Time Marches On and Dialed In (Wilson Rodeo) tied for the Bull of the Event honor, each marked 43 points.

More or Less posted the score in the opening round, bucking off Wade Marshall (Invercargill, New Zealand) in 2.01 seconds. Time Marches On posted a 43-point score when he teamed with Tetz for the event-winning ride. Dialed In dominated in the championship round, tossing Chad Hartman (Lancer, Saskatchewan) in 2.5 seconds.
